Sun Valley

Sun Valley ~ What an amazing trip! Addi and I went with Mari and her son Jake (who is 4, that's them in the pic to the left) this past weekend. Mari had to go up there for work so we made a trip out of it, we stayed with her clients the first night in Hailey. The kids were refusing to go to bed so we finally gave up and stayed up with them. We ended up getting out the camera and having a fun little photo shoot of the kids. They took so many cute pictures! It was a blast, we were laughing hysterically and having so much fun. The next morning we got and drove into Ketchum/Sun Valley. We went into a little coffee shop, and it was horrible, we had people blatantly snubbing us and looking at us with disgust for having our kids and stroller with us. Mari and I were mortified, I have never had anyone be annoyed with me when I have my daughter with me! Then while we were walking back to the car after looking around the SV Lodge I noticed Addi stinked. So we walked into all the different public bathrooms at the lodge looking for a changing station, we couldn't find one anywhere (which really ticked me off, a little accommodation would be nice) so I decided I would just quickly change her on the top of the car trunk. So I go to start to change her and it is the absolute nastiest blow out you have ever seen, it was even in her socks! Mari was a true friend and gave me a hand with the dirty job! Don't ask me how I had been walking around holding her and not notice! Anyway so we get done with that and drive back to Hailey, pick up our stuff and go and check into the condo.

Mari had to go work for a few hours, so the kids and I took a much needed nap. When Mari got back we went swimming in the Lodge's heated swimming pool. It was Addison's first time swimming and she loved it! The pool is round and has this great ledge around the edge of it for you to sit on, we just hung out and enjoyed the combination of the cool air and the hot water. It was fabulous! We then went back to the condo for the night and had a delicious dinner, we put the kids to bed and Mari and I stayed up and were total girls! We did nails, drank, watched Sex and the City and talked! It was great! The next morning we had to go home so we went out to a quick breakfast and then packed up and headed home. It was snowing and cold but beautiful when we left. The trip home seemed to take forever, but we finally made it. I had so much fun but I have decided I am definitely more of a McCall kind of girl, especially now that I'm a mom.

I Love Pick-Up Trucks & Yard Sales

I have so many wonderful people in my life; and I believe it is so important to let your loved ones know you love them. So my new blog goal is going to be to post a 'I love ...' to someone each week so they know how much I love them.

I love Pick-Up Trucks & Yard Sales, otherwise known as April. Where to even begin...I first met April when we started working together at a local scrapbook store in Boise. It took me a little while to get to know April, but once I did I instantly felt lucky to have her as a friend. She is a wonderful mother to two beautiful kids, she would do anything for them, they are her life! April is very talented when it comes to anything creative- sewing, scrapping, & painting; she also has this great talent of bargain shopping. She is always finding the greatest pieces at antique or thrift stores and then re-doing them so they look like a million bucks. She made two gorgeous pieces for Addi's room and I get compliments on them all the time. She is a very hard worker in every aspect of her life, as a wife & mother, in her home, at work, and for her friends.

April has stood by me strong during the last two years, constantly giving me a much needed listening ear and hug. She has stood up for me during some really hard times. I know I can say anything to her and she won't judge me and she will help me work through my problems. We can be doing anything together and have so much fun, especially when we go out dancing! April is so funny and does the best little sayings and accents! She is strikingly beautiful, which you can tell from the above picture. She isn't afraid to be herself or speak her mind, both of which are qualities she inspires me to improve on. She has a sincere heart and is always quick with a laugh and a joke.

I love you Apes!
XOXO ~ Sara

"AAHHH HHEAAYY!!"

Lately I have been thinking a lot about Chatterbox; as most of you know I worked there from August '04 until January '07. Lately I have been missing that place so much, not so much what is was at the end, but for what it was overall. Most of the time I was there it was such a happy place. By far the reason I miss it the most was because of all the truly amazing people I got to work with each and every day. These people became some of my best friends and we created frienships that will last a lifetime.

I miss getting to see them all everyday and all the fun we used to have. I just can't even describe the fun! We all had such different personalities, but it was like a family, we got along great even though we were so different. I was also so lucky because I got to travel a lot and do some really cool things I otherwise never would have been able to do. I got to go to Chicago, Las Vegas, Little Rock, Mall of America and go to a Red Sox Game! I learned so much about business and grew a lot as a person. Every single person that worked there touched my life so much. I miss FFL, shows, food, inside jokes, getting to do something creative every day, and team meetings on the sofas.

I have been wanting to write about CBX for some time but because of the situation that was going on when I left I have often felt a pinch in my heart when I think about CBX; but I refuse to let a bad ending ruin a wonderful two and half years of my life. I will forever be grateful for my years at CBX and for my friends that I created there. To all my CBX Family ~ I love you!

XOXO-
Sara

Thank You

I just wanted to post really quick and say thank you for all the love and support that I have recieved from all of you, it really meant a lot to me. I also wanted to say that I want my blog to be happy and inspirational but I also want it to be real, and lets face it we all can't be happy all the time, sometimes we just have bad days. I don't know why I felt compelled to share that, I guess I just needed to say my intent is not to be a downer, but just to be real. I am feeling much better and am finally starting to feel like there is an end in sight and soon I will close this chapter of my life and move onto a brighter, happier chapter. Thank you again for all your love and support.

Smooches,

Sara

Is there an end in sight?

Is there an end in sight, some days I don't believe there is, right now this is one of them. I will apologize right now because this is not an up beat post, I just don't have the heart for that right now. I would like to believe the Lord does not give us more than we can handle. However the last two years have been incredibly trying on my soul, there has not been an end in sight, and if there was it was extremely short lived. It has been one extreme trial after the next, most of them financial. Today was just another blow in the long line of them. Every time we take one step forward we take three back. When it rains it pours and we are in a freakin flood! I just can't take any more. The minute I think it can't get any worse it does. I have been trying so hard to keep my chin up and have faith in the Lord but my spirit is crushed and I have cried all my tears, well maybe not all my tears cause I'm crying now. I just can't take any more or I believe I really will break. So I pray to Heaven above that there is an end in sight and my end will come soon.
Sincerely,
Sara

A Newborn's Converstaion with God

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.' 'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.

''Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.

''But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.

This was an email foward that I got from Nicole (thank you for sending it to me) and I thought it was so beautiful I had to post it, it made me cry. What a blessing we have that we are able to be mothers.

Love,

Sara

Addison has always made the funniest faces, she is so expressive with her face. In this picture she is blowing spit bubbles, one of her favorite things to do. I think we are making progress with the sleeping project. Last night Addi went to bed at 8:15, only woke up twice during the night, and didn't get up until 8:00 this morning! What a beautiful night! I woke up feeling so happy and refreshed, love to start the day of on a good note. Last night Addi and I also went to Albertsons, I had to mention this because they are having such a big sale on some of their stuff. Some of it is 20/$10.oo! And they even had baby food on sale, wipes on clearance and lots of other great prices; normally I'm not an Albertsons girl but they had good prices. I love it when I am a savvy shopper. Oh shopping, I miss it so much! Looking back I can't believe how much I used to shop (those of you who used to work with me at CBX now what I'm talking about -only Kat could put me to shame, luv you Kat!). Anyway, I still have a little ways to go to get where I want my body to be, I have started doing crunches every night with Kevin and counting calories, then after that Express here I come! Anyway, I don't really have a lot to say today just in one of my moods where I just want to talk. Haha, I'm a little bit o.o.c. (out of control) , its amazing what a little sleep can do for a girl. Well I guess I will go for the day leaving you with a 'heeaaaayyy'! (Girls I miss all those Chatterboxism, oh good times)

An Inspirational Thought

I found this paragraph on a friend of a friend's blog and thought it was so inspirational. She was talking about this in reference to being a mother. It was a little reminder to me that I have always wanted to be a mother and it is the most important thing to me and I should build my life around being a mother and the rest of the pieces in my life will fall into place around that.

"Just because we don't know what we want to do with our lives doesn't mean we don't know who we want to become. Some of you may think you know what you want to do but maybe it doesn't fall in "the plan"! For others maybe you knew all along and that is who you became. For me I always went back and forth with what I wanted to do but never wavered on what I wanted to become.Try working on what you want to become first and then what you should do will just fall into place."

A special quote and a huge hug for my mom: "My mom is a never ending song in my heart of comfort, happiness, and being. I may sometimes forget the words but I always remember the tune." ~Graycie Harmon

Here's to you sis!

Above: Whitni, Becca & I Downtown for Becca's 21st Birthday!
This weekend I got to celebrate with my little sister, Becca, for her 21st birthday. Becca and I are eighteen months apart and I can't even begin to tell you how close we are! We have been through everything together, even being pregnant and having our babies together, Addi & Connor are only three months apart. You just have to love Rebecca because she is sweet and feisty at the same time, hard working, and the cutest mom ever! She is always clowning around with Connor to get him to laugh, she reads to him all the time (he is such a smart baby!) and you can just tell how much she loves him. Becca can be friends with just about anyone, she is really smart and so hot! I just can't say enough good things about her! She is currently in Las Vegas, with her boyfriend Chris, who has been planning this trip for like a year to take her for her 21st. They are so cute as a couple you kind of want to gag... just kidding I am absolutely thrilled she has found someone that is so good to her cause she deserves it. Becca has always stood by my side ~ no matter what! I love that we aren't just sisters, we are best friends too, we always have so much fun together no matter what we are doing. So here's to you sis..thank you for all your love and friendship over the years, I thank Heaven above daily for your presence in my life.

Sara

Sleeping Update

Well, last night started off good...

Addi and I got home at about 6:30; Kevin had the night off (a rare occasion) and he made me dinner and we ate as a family. By 7:30 I could tell Addi was just plain tired so I decided I would put her to bed a little earlier than usual. So we go upstairs and have a story and a bottle and rock in her rocking chair and by 8:00 she was in her crib and asleep. I was so proud of her and me and so excited to have a few hours alone with Kevin. Then at 9:45 she woke up a little so I went in and soothed her a little and went back to bed. However she still proceeded to wake up at 12:00; 3:45; and 5:30 this morning! That is like as much as she used to wake up when she was an infant! I was so tired and had to be up early this morning at 6:30. I am trying hard not to be frustrated cause I know she is just having seperation anxiety and I let her get in this habit. So hopefully with a little more patience and work it will be better by the end of the week. Here's to keeping my chin up. Thanks for the support!

Love,
A tired, yet happy Sara
