Just to Make You Smile

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Libra

So, I came across this today and found it really interesting. I copied and pasted the article and highlighted the stuff in red I felt really was true about me. I always have a hard time just sitting down and writing about myself so I love it when I can find things that fit me and I can express myself through them. This was a really fun project for me. Maybe you'll learn something new about me....

Balance is the keyword for this sign, and when it comes to keeping everything on an even keel, a Libra will lead the pack. Peace loving and judicial, this sign abhors being alone. Partnerships are very important for the Libra, especially those on a personal level. With their winning personalities and cooperative style, they aren't apt to be alone for long!

Friends and Family

Fun loving and willing to help out, the Libra makes an excellent friend. Even though they can be late and indecisive, once they're on the scene, they're ready to go. This flexible sign loves to spend time with friends and family and doesn't hesitate to initiate gatherings. Sociable and suave, Librans naturally draw people to them. They have a way of creating a compelling aura of harmony around them. When it comes to challenges, this balancing sign can see both perspectives in a disagreement, making them excellent problem-solvers. Companionable, they're apt to keep their friends and family busy.

Career and Money

Harmony is the keyword for this sign. For the Libra, maintaining this is of the utmost importance. They can be excellent leaders and will work hard to earn and deserve the privilege. Truth and justice always prevail for Librans as they go about their days. Working with others or in a partnership is ideal for this social sign. Artistic and persuasive, these folks are gifted talkers who do well in any position that provides a platform for them to chat. Careers that involve justice such as police officer, lawyer, or judge are excellent choices for Libra. They will also succeed at such occupations as diplomat, civil servant, interior decorator, composer, and fashion designer. Group settings pose no challenge for Librans - in fact, the more the merrier. Their strong sense of diplomacy serves well in almost anything they do. If you go shopping with a Libra, best to plan some extra time! This sign can be terribly indecisive when it comes to purchasing. Balancing their money, however, is a snap for Libra. Keeping a good balance between savings and spending money is a real talent for these folks. Their love of fashion and housewares can see them out and about in stores quite often. One of Libra's favorite pastimes is to shop for someone special.

Love and Sex

Finding the right partner will be a priority in the Libra's life. For those already in a relationship, maintaining the peace and harmony takes center stage. A Libra alone is a sad thing indeed, not to mention unnatural. They need to connect with others. As lovers they are expressive, creative, and balanced. They love to make their partners feel completely and thoroughly satisfied from conversation to lovemaking. Librans' charm and dedication to striking the perfect balance with others makes them wonderful partners.

LIBRA TIDBITS

Health: Each sign has a part of the anatomy attached to it, making this the area of the body that is most sensitive to stimulation. The anatomical areas for Libra are the kidneys, lower back, adrenal glands, and appendix. Don't really know what any of this means?

Ruling Planet: The ruling planet for Libra is Venus. This planet's action is gentle and harmonious. It governs beauty, charm, emotional contacts, possessions, unions of all kinds, singing, art, culture, sweets and sugar, and moral character. This too?

Color: The color of choice for Libra is blue. GemstoneLibra's star stone is the sapphire.

Lucky Numbers: Libra's lucky numbers are 1, 2, and 7. My lucky number is totally 7! Addison's birthday is 7-7-7!!

Compatibility: Librans are most compatible with Aquarius and Gemini.

Opposite Sign: The opposite sign for Libra is Aries.

What's your sign?

The Perfect Gift: The best gifts for a Libra are music and items that create relaxation. Some of my favorite music are the mix cd's that Jesse always made for me. I love music, and a good massage doesn't hurt either!

Likes: Pleasant conversation, beauty, balance, fairness, romance

Dislikes: Being treated unfairly, ugly places, rough people, making a final decision

House: Natural sign of the Seventh House. This house focuses on marriage, partnerships, public relations, open enemies, and other people. ? No idea...

Famous Librans: Will Smith, Gwen Stefani, Matt Damon, Eminem, Sting, Viggo Moretensen

Best travel destinations: Tibet, Japan, Burma, Austria, Johannesburg, Copenhagen, Vienna- wouldn't that be nice

Strengths: Social, fair-minded, cooperative, diplomatic, gracious

Weaknesses: Indecisive, will carry a grudge, avoids confrontations, self-pity ...I'm working on it...

Charismatic marks: Attractive, graceful, medium build, no sharp features

Best environment: Any place that is beautiful where the company is harmonious. Very social and happiest doing things in the company of another. -So true!

The Moment You Fell in Love

Do you remember the moment you fell in love? And the moments since then that have made you fall in love over and over again. I was smitten with Kevin from the moment we started dating and was happy to have things get pretty serious pretty fast. But there is this one moment in my mind that when I think back brings chills to my arms, tears to my eyes and warms my heart. It isn't anything romantic, he didn't do or say anything, its just this moment that is crystal clear in my head that I looked at him and new, beyond a doubt, that I loved him and that I always would. We are driving on the freeway into downtown in this old white Yukon he had, he's driving, has this A&F beanie and sweater on, hadn't shaved in a few days, had his hand out the window holding a cigarette, and he looks over at me with this look that I can't describe as anything but his look, and I was gone. He had my heart, and he's had it ever since. How lucky we are to be in love.

You have to get one!

Rowdy! My friend Kat and her hubby Justin own Rowdy designer diaper bags, and all you hip mom's have to get one! The only hard part about them is deciding which one to buy! They have new designs coming soon. Check 'em out. The link to her blog is on the right, Rowdy Girl.

Happy Birthday Amy!

Shout out to Amy! Happy, happy birthday! Amy also had a birthday on Saturday, both she and Jared were born on Friday September 13th! I just adore my big sister so much and want to be just like her when I grow up, I really do!
I LOVE YOU!
P.S. Isn't she such a hottie?

Fun Weekend

What a fun weekend! Especially for one that started out with no plans, except for cleaning, which did not get done. But whatev... So Friday night April and I went to Sara Evans, and in case you did not know this about me I adore her! I knew all the words to every song and danced my little prego self silly almost all night. We met up with Kristen and Jeff there, so fun! Seriously, fun, hilarious people. I'm so lucky to have so many friends that I don't' see for ages and then we can hang and just chat up a storm, love it! Oh, and did I mention the nuts? The sugar and cinnamon roasted pecans, my new pregnancy addition, which really sucks cause I'm pretty sure there is no where I can get any. But once again, whatev.. I guess I'm kind of in a whatev mood, the good whatev though not the like what(t.f.)ev mood-had to sensor for delicate eyes-.

Saturday I took Addi and we met up with my dad and little sis and brothers at The Original Pancake House in Eagle for a birthday breakfast for Jared, who is 17! I can't believe it! Then all us kids went and saw my Grandma and Grandpa out on the farm, which was really fun. They gave us lots of yummy veggies from their garden and we had a nice visit with them, which was really nice cause I don't see my Grandpa very much. The farm brought back so many found memories from being a kid. Then that night we all went to the movie, which is special for me because I don't get out to the movies that much. Kevin took Addi with him to the game at BSU, so cute! We saw The Traitor, which was a good movie for guys and girls. Not a chick flick but no blood and gore either and its only rated PG-13. Then we went to Maggie Moo's for some delicious cheesecake ice cream. Yep, I am thoroughly enjoying being pregnant and eating completely unhealthy! Don't you worry about that-lol- I'm getting rather large! But whatev, since it is most probable that this is my last pregnancy got to enjoy it. I had so much fun hanging with my brothers and sisters, it was really fun having it just be the four of us, it usually isn't, have to make a point to do it more often.

Sunday I went grocery shopping-ugh but I came home to a fresh cooked breakfast from Kevin, yum, he always cooks me the best breakfast! We just hung out at home most the day with Addi, enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour nap while she slept and then we went to my mom's house for Jared's birthday dinner. Tacos & Better than Sex Chocolate Cake-yum! Once again, I ate a ton of delicious food. And that brings me to Monday. I'm not real fond of Mondays but I refuse to be one of those people that is always grumpy on Mondays, although it works better sometimes than others.

It dawned on me this morning as I was driving to work that I am going to have this baby in 14 weeks! Aahh! That is so soon! No wonder my uterus is the size of a soccer ball (according to Baby Center) which looks about right. I picked up the crib that Mari got me at a garage sale for $35 and it is gorgeous! It is a natural wood sleigh crib from Babies 'R' Us, only used for one child! I can't believe I got it for $35! I am so excited for fall! My birthday, then Seattle, then Kevin's birthday, Halloween, nephew due, my baby shower, Thanksgiving, then baby! Its going to fly by and I plan on enjoying it all. Oh, and I've had my first pumpkin spice latte -decaf, thank you very much- I just love fall! Don't you? I would love to see some comments!

Carrots, Eggs, & Coffee!

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again. A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then sheladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.' 'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected itsliquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hard ened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. 'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the watergets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

This was an email foward I recieved and it really struck a cord with me this morning. I feel exactly as it says in the beginning, as soon as I overcome one adveristy another one hits me and I'm just plain tired. But I want to be the coffee.

XOXO

I feel like I have been so busy with a lot of nothing! I think a lot of moms feel like that, your busy all day long and then at the end of the day your still not really sure what you did-lol. I have definitely been a hermit the last couple of weeks. It has felt so good to just hang out at home with Addison and not have to do anything. We got all moved and I love the house! I love that it is all one story and it is laid out really well. We still have a lot of stuff in boxes but I'm just taking it slow, no rush. I was defiantly overdoing it there for a while so I'm making myself relax and just go slow. Addison has seemed to have no problems adjusting to the move and I really think she loves the new house, especially the backyard. She has so many personality traits like her dad, its hilarious! They both adore the outdoors, I like being outside if the weather is right but I'm not outdoors person like her dad. I really enjoyed Memorial day weekend, I didn't do anything!! My family and friends invited me to do stuff but I just wanted to be at home. Addi and I just hung out and played around the house, it made me miss being a stay at home mom so much. I just can't even describe how much I enjoyed the hours of just playing with her and reading the same stories over and over and napping when she napped and cooking. I wish that could be my day-to-day life, but maybe someday, when I win the lotto-lol. Monday (Memorial Day) Mari did come over and we hung out with the kids at the house which was nice. We made homemade tomato basil soup for dinner and it was yummy!

I am officially six months pregnant now, I swear this pregnancy is going by so much faster than my last one, I think its because I'm working now and have have Addi so I have other things to focus on. Work is going great! I'm working on getting licensed, my Series 7, I'm going to Seattle to take a class in October on how to take the test, there is only a 60% passing rate. I'm really excited to get licensed. Its so hard, but I think it will totally be worth it.

And, my little sister, Becca is officially engaged to her long time boyfriend Chris Poluhoff! Her now fiance took her up to a bed and breakfast for the weekend and purposed up there, we've known its been coming, but its so exciting to have it be official. They are such a great couple, they are so good together, I think the world of him, he treats Becca so well! We are starting to get wedding ideas, they are thinking the end of next summer or beginning of fall. Oh and did I mention he gave her a beautiful one carat engament ring that they designed together. I am so happy for her! I can't wait to help her plan and get her dress! And Addi is of course going to be the flower girl and their son Connor is going to be the ring bearer. Its going to be so stinking cute.

I can't believe how big Addi is! She is so a toddler, no more baby. Its a good thing I already have another one on the way because I miss having a newborn. She says 'me' and 'no' all the time, its so funny, she also says uh-oh, even when its not an accident, which is hilarous and frustrating at the same time. She walks like a pro and tries to run but still falls. Her hair is getting longer and she is already so tall and still has her beautiful blue eyes. She has her four front teeth and is definatly a mamma's girl right now. She does fine when I'm not in the room with her, but if I am she is my little leech and I have to be hodling her. She is so smart, too smart really for her own good, she tries to mimick so many things that I say and is really good with her hand gestures and grunts to let me know what she wants. She is finally off of forumla completely, she is on lactose free milk.

So overall things are great in our neck of the neighborhood! Dont' be shy and come on over and say hi!

Blog Safety

I really want to have my blog be a very honest place but a lot of times I am stopped by posting some real stuff cause I don't want just anyone to have a front row view of whats going on inside my heart, so that being said I have decided to allow only invited readers to my blog. You will have to log in before you can read it which I know is a pain, so I'm sorry but I feel much more safe with this decision. If you would send me your email address so I can add you to the list I would really appreciate it!
