Sheryl Crow

Last night her in Nampa

So last night Mari and I got to go see Sheryl Crow and it was awesome! She was so much better than I thought she would be! Brandi Carlile opened for her and she was just as good! We even got to meet her and get her autograph! What a great night!

  • When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. Helen Keller

  • Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of happiness; it is generally the by-product of other activities. Aldous Huxley

  • There is only one person who could ever make you happy, and that person is you. David Burns, Intimate Connections

  • The happiness of life is made up of minute fractions—the little soon-forgotten charities of a kiss, a smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment in the disguise of a playful raillery, and the countless other infinitessimals of pleasurable thought and genial feeling. Samuel Taylor Coleridge

  • Happiness is not having what you want, it's wanting what you have.

I just needed a little pick me up and these helped a little so I thought I would share them with you.

Made My Day

Kelly and Family
Christi and husband Mike
Mike's Kids, don't have a pic with me of him
Amy and her family

So, I totall adore my older (half) brother and sisters. Christi lives in Utah and I don't get to see her very much anymore but wish I did. Amy just lives down the road here in Eagle and we are really close and my parents always tell me how much my personality is like hers (which is a total compliment since I adore her!). Mike lives down the road in Nampa but works all the time, he is pretty quiet but I think thats just because us girls are so loud, he's hilarous whenever you get a chance to talk to him, he was really supportive and sweet when I was going through a rough time and always has tickets to the gun show. Kelly is the closest in age to me of my older siblings, she's seven years older than me and definelty the most easy going out of all of us.

For as long as I can remember I have looked up to my big brothers and sisters and just idolized them, and even as I'm grown up a part of me still does that. I've always wanted to be best friends with all of them and hang out all the time and just call and chat with them. They were so much older than me growing up that I saw them ocasionally but I always wanted to see them more. I guess unless you have older brothers and sisters you can't really understand how much you look up to them and the way you look at them. Even though they are my half brothers and sisters, we have the same dad, there was never a difference to me, they are my siblings.

Anyway, I have hardly seem any of them this past year, we are all really busy with kids and work and everything. I have really missed them and felt a little sad I haven't gotten to hang out with them much this year. And I've been a little sensitive lately, sometimes I feel like they just see me as an annoying little sister and don't want to be friends with me. So when they reach out to me it means so much to me. Yesterday Kelly sent me this really sweet email and it toally made my day!
sara- Not that I would be of much help, but can we help you out in any way with your move? Have you moved yet or are you moving soon? Let me know. Maybe we all could meet for lunch sometime. love ya, Kelly

Kelly's pregnant too, hence the not much help part, she's due the end of October and is having a boy also. I should probably wrap this up, so my whole little lesson I decided I was supposed to learn, or at least needed reminded of was to follow your heart and not worry about what the other person might be thinking or feeling, to just love them, despite what they do or don't do so you can be at peace with yourself. I don't know that it is coming out right but hopefully that makes a little sense. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday.

Much Love-Sara

Tag Your It

I like this tag...

Joys
  • Addison- Only a mother can truly understand how your child can literally light you up and make the whole world feel like sunshine and butterflies. The joy she brings me is so much more than I ever could have imagined. Every little thing about her, the way she smells after a bath, the way she walks up to me and squeezes me so tight like she won't ever let go, the way she giggles, and oh those facial expressions, the way she is learning to talk and says uh-oh all the time. She is my sunshine!
  • Being with my husband- Kevin is my other half. We have such a passionate relationship. I love being out with him, on dates, running errands, driving in the car, lazy Sundays where our little family spends the whole day in bed. The way he can make me feel, and the things he does for me I cherish. I am so grateful for each moment I get with him since our lives our so busy and he works such insane hours, especially during the summer.
  • Girlyness- yep, that really is a word- Starbucks, loud chick music blaring in your ears as you drive doing sixty in your fast black car, pedicures, wine tasting, girl nights, shopping, fashion, talk, talk talk, getting dolled up, high heels, all the glory and fun us girls get to have.
  • A day where I am all by myself and can do what ever I what whenever I want. These days are very few and far in between since I've had Addi. Its so fun to play hookie though.
  • My family- my mom, my sisters, my dad, I have such an amazing family and such a different type of relationship with each person I have so much fun with them all.

Fears

  • Snakes, oh I can't even picture one-seriously eww!
  • Loosing a loved one. Addi, Kevin, parents, friends, anyone
  • Loosing this baby.

Current Obsessions

  • Twilight
  • Decorating the baby's room
  • Planning on how I am going to arrange furniture and decorate the new house
  • Finding new music to listen to

Random/Surprising Facts

  • I can't wait for all my fall season shows to start, I'm a looser, I love my tv shows!
  • I wish I could go on a huge shopping spree, but whats the point when your prego
  • I'm already excited for my birthday that is over a month away-Sept 27th!
  • And excited for my baby shower which isn't even planned yet, my last one was literally pregnant and the only real time I can guilt all my CBX friends into coming out to see me.

Ok, so I really didn't mean all that to come off quit so cliche but its whats in my heart. Ok, I tag Kristen L, Kat S, Lori, Amy, Christi, Kelly.

So I always love it when people update their blog all the time, then I look back at the date of my last post and can't believe its been that long! Things are crazy around here, I'm pretty much a stress case! We are moving this weekend -ugh and yeah at the same time. It is so much work to move and I get tired and hot and grumpy so fast but it will be exciting to be all settled and moved in at. Work is crazy busy and I am studying to get my Series 7 liscense. It is a 6 hour test put on my Finra and so hard and I'm trying to get it done in about six weeks. I'm supposed to take my test at the end of September and I am trying so hard to meet that goal, I'm trying to study two hours a night but I usually get stuck somewhere around an hour or so. I'm hoping after the move and getting all settled I will be able to focus a lot more and get it done. With those two things and then the day to day grind of being a working mom its quit exahusting. I've been feeling like my hormones are just raging and I am so moody, so I've just been trying to keep my mouth shut and keep to myself.

I try to keep my blog honest and talk about it all. I have a few personal goals I'm working on right now. Not complaing! (lol-aren't I doing good) And focusing on the positive! So here are some of the positives! Two weekends ago I went up with my entire family to McCall for my Grandma's birthday. Its always a family tradition to make that our yearly family trip and I always love the time with my family and Grandma. I have such a great Grandma, she is so young at heart and fun to be with. As I'm older I feel like I can really appreciate her as a friend and a person not just my grandma. We rented a pontoon boat all day Saturday and it was so fun. Addison loved it! She insisted on being at the front of the boat like she was on the titanic. She did so good all day and I was so proud of her, she even took al ittle nap on the boat. We had a great time.

I feel the baby kick all the time now and I love it! It is so fun and makes my heart jump everytime. We are still trying to come up with a name. My girlfriend picked up a great crib for me at a yard sale for $35! It is from a ritzy neighborhood in east Boise, its natural wood and came from Babies 'R' Us. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure I'll like it. I'm still on the hunt for a great deal on bedding. And I'm hoping that someone will throw me a baby shower and I'll get everything else then. Its ok to have a second baby shower cause this ones a boy right? Anyway, I have so much else I need to do so I best be going but I wanted to say hi and send lots of love to you all! Seriously I love you all!

XOXO -Sara

And the pieces fall into place

So, I realize its been forever since I posted last and there have probably been a half a dozen times where I went to post and then stopped myself cause I was just whinny and moody (the joys of being pregnant)... but anyway I am feeling much better and things are doing better so I thought it was long over do that I stop in and say hello.

Where to begin...of course with Addi, my pride and joy! Addi has started walking! She's been taking steps for about a month now but it really seems she is getting the hang of it and it is so cute! She still falls down though cause she gets so excited and then just trips over her own feet. Its so funny! She has been sleeping through the night, sitting in her high chair eating real food for dinner and of course being sassy! (wonder why-lol) I just can't believe it, she's pretty much a toddler now! Its so crazy and wonderful and each day brings new challenges and excitement and fun. She was a little sick this last week, she's had really bad diaper rash and diarrhea so we finally went to the doctor after two weeks of it not getting better, we got a prescription and things seem to be healing wonderfully and she's back to being her happy self. She loves being around other kids, especially Mari's son Jake, she just thinks he is hilarious and sits there and watches him and just laughs. Her other new thing, that is simply just the sweetest thing ever is she initiates hugs. She walks right up to you and puts her little arms around your necks and just hugs you so tight. It makes you feel like a million bucks, I think sunshine might just shoot from my hinny I get so happy from her hugs. Her hair is also long enough now that you can put it in little bam-bam pigtails or ponies on the top of her head. I just really can't stand how adorable my baby is! I know all you other moms out there can relate!

My other baby, the one that's still cooking, is doing great! We went to the doctor last week and things still look fabulous! In one more week I will be 20 weeks (five months) and at the half way point! Hooray! We are still thinking on names and I am busily searching the net for great deals on a crib and bedding, still looking though so if you come across anything let me know. I am getting so excited! I can't wait! He has started to move around enough so I can feel him, he only does it every now and then but when he does its so wonderful!

I have felt like things have been totally up in the air and we had a lot going on. I was really stressing and worried and just overwhelmed. Well my husband has this ability to just make everything fall into place and he does it every time! We also got the rental house all set to go and we move in on the 22nd! I am excited to move and get all settled! Its only five minutes from where we live now, its a cute little 1200 sq foot house, 3 bdr, 2 ba, it will work great for the time being. I also got a new car, a Chrysler 300 and I am so excited, its so roomy for the kids and safe and fun to drive! So all around things are going fabulous! I want to have a get together at my house after we move in, so get ready to come over and have fun!

XOXO
